Longlisted for Red Rose Awards 2012 - Two interviews to attend - fingers crossed

Contract at Tower Road, Blackburn has been stopped by Bats - bats found hibernating near a window so work has to be postponed until April when the Bats come out of hibernation

Attended the opening service of Whalley Methodist Church, which we have just completed renovating. A lovely service and a superb job - the church looks fantastic and everyone was pleased

NOVEMBER 2011

To further reduce our carbon footprint we have installed solar panels here at our premises on Black Abbey Street.

Work commenced on St Mary Magdelens School, Accrington.

We have installed a new wood burner in our Joiners Shop - this will not only help to heat our workshop and offices but will also reduce our waste. We can now burn all or joinery waste, not only from the Joiners Shop, but also from our sites.

Ashley Warburton our Apprentice Ground Worker is to recieve the Learner of the Year award from Accrignton & Rossendale College - Congratulations and Well Done Ash.

OCTOBER 2011

We were delighted to raise over £600 for Breast Cancer Research in our Wear it Pink campaign

Blackburn College - one of the very old statues has to be removed as it is in danger of falling.  A crane and specialist team has been organised to remove the statue which will be packed away and preserved.

This month is breast cancer awareness month and Rosslee are supporting the 'Wear it Pink' Breast Cancer Research Campaign - and will all be wearing pink on Friday the 28th October.

SEPTEMBER 2011

The Foyer, Blackburn is being handed over - Conversion of shop units into 2 bedroom apartments

Contract commenced at Trinity Methodist Church, Clitheroe, the scaffolding is now going up.

Great news - we have successfully achieved ISO9001 Quality Management Standard registration. Just received our Certificate.

JULY 2011

Things have been very busy this month with lots of contracts starting. See our latest Projects page.

A warm welcome is also extended to our new members of staff

On site we have also employed Gary Moore, Bricklayer, Mark Tomlinson, Joiner and a young Joinery Apprentice Jack Haining.

JUNE 2011

We are very busy at the moment in the office and on site. Lots of enquiries coming in.

We are currently revamping our Joiners Shop here on Black Abbey Street. We are making more effective use of the downstairs area and therefore enabling our joiners to produce items more efficiently. During this 'revamp' we are also going to install a biomass woodburner, which will assist with our wood waste whilst helping to heat the premises.
Andrew, our General Foreman, held a Meet the Builder day at St John Southworth School in Nelson for all the pupils. He talked to them about staying safe on a building site - and he organised a competition for the children to design a poster of 'How to Stay Safe on a Building Site' Check out our page to find the winning entry.

Our Contract at Blackburn College is progressing nicely and the property on Windermere Avenue is sold.

The contract to convert a stairwell, at a Solicitors in Blackburn, into offices completed a week ahead of schedule.

MAY 2011

On the 9th May we commenced a contract at St John Southworth RC Primary School in Nelson.  This is a particularly interesting project in its use of sustainable and recycled materials. Follow our ' twitter tweets' for regular updates of the project

We have recently purchased a new van and are looking to replace our Pickup - watch out for the new ones with our new logo.

APRIL 2011

Here at the offices we are looking at the benefits of solar panels and biomass heaters.

Our 12 week contract to rennovate houses on Accrington Road, Blackburn for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has completed on time. Take a look at our video

Just completed a contract at Hyndburn Leisure Centre creating a 'Changing Places Toilet' facility

Had a great night at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool for the Red Rose awards, even though we didn't win

Completing PQQ's - wish they'd make them standardised - I keep having to complete the same information in a different way.

Delighted to be selected by Roots Class of Your Own for the Eco Classroom Project at Accrington Academy. Looking forward to working with the selected design team and of course the Students at Accrington Academy. Exciting times

Very excited to be shortlisted for the Property/Construction Business of the Year in the Red Rose Awards 2011.  The Awards are to be held in Blackpool in the 31st March - fingers crossed!

JANUARY 2011

Attended the Roots Class of Your Own "A Right Royal Challenge" - Met some very motivated young people and helped design a Royal Residence in Lancashire for Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Contract commenced on Monday 10th January for the external refurbishment of 39 houses on Accrington Road, Blackburn - Our first Regenerate Contract

What a start to the first day back - snow! Luckily it didn't last and all projects could proceed.
