Training and Development
Rosslee Construction operates a policy to ensure that all our operatives are fully trained to enable them to carry out their respective jobs in the safest and most efficient way possible. Health and Safety is a priority together with technical training a must.
Under our on ongoing training programme, all our operatives are CSCS qualified as a minimum. Therefore they have all successfully passed the Health & Safety Touch Screen Test. In addition to this the Company regularly holds Health & Safety Tool Box Talks.
Management have undertaken Construction Skills Safety Training courses. Our Managing Director, Contracts Manager, General Forman and Foremen are all SMSTS qualified .
Six members of our team hold a First Aid qualification. And all operatives are CRB checked.
Rosslee Construction works closely with the local colleges and Construction Skills, we enrol apprentices on an annual basis and sponsor them for three years training which then results in a Modern Apprenticeship at NVQ level III. Our Managing Director is also qualified as a Work Based Recorder.

We currently employ three apprentices two studying at the third level of the NVQ in Joinery and Bricklaying; and a first year apprentice in plastering. It is our intention at the end of the three years training to continue the employment of our successful apprentices. We therefore believe that encouragement and structured training is very important to enable us to provide a competent and skilled tradesperson to compliment our company standards.
Two older employees joined the company as labourers - since then they have progressed and undertaken training of their chosen trade - one has successfully completed his NVQ3 in plastering and another in Joinery.
Our operatives have also undertaken Tower Scaffold Erection and Abrasive Wheel Changing training.
They are also encouraged to continue with their training should they so wish. A former apprentice joiner is currently studying for his HNC in Construction and our young admin assistant is undertaking an AAT course.
in 2007 the Company won the Lancashire Telegraph Training Award; and in 2009 Rosslee Construction was Highly Commended at the Chamber of Commerce Awards Evening
