Rosslee were awarded the conversion of an existing two-story detached residential house into a 6 unit residential care facility for Stockdales of Sale charity.
Works included demolition of the garage, carport and rear conservatory. A significant part one story / part two story extension was then built to the side of the property. This was to house the new living room, kitchen / dining room and utility room, with 2 ground floor bedrooms from the existing rooms. Internal alterations to the layout were made to form the 6 units, along with the office and lift area.
A hoist tracking system was provided in the bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas. An internal lift was fitted too. The facilities include two assisted bathrooms, with fully accessible WCs and anti-slip surface, plus additional WC for staff and visitors. The whole house was fully redecorated.
The Tudor Revival timber frame detailing at the front gable above the main entrance was reinstated and all existing windows and doors were replaced to be in keeping with the current style. The designs and materials used were to keep the extension and property in keeping with the existing houses in the area. Externally at the rear a canopy terraced area was constructed of timber with a glazed roof. Ancillary parking and landscaping was completed along with the external drainage works.
