“Two years ago, American actor and director Hopwood DePree left his home in the Hollywood Hills to help the fight to restore the building, which his English ancestors are said to have founded in the 12th Century.
The council has an agreement with Hopwood, whereby he has the option of acquiring the hall at a future date when he develops a detailed plan to provide for the preservation and protection of the building.
The repair work will follow Manchester-based Buttress Architects’ design brief, which was put out to tender earlier this year, and subsequently won by Rosslee.”
